Bass Overdrive

August 9, 2014August 9, 2014 by admin

This is a bass overdrive built from PCBs from GuitarPCB.com. The boards were professionally made. The layout is good, with pots mounted to the PCB. The  LED is also mounted to the PCB. Actually everything goes through the PCB, except for the ground wire from the battery clip. The system seemed to work well and … Read more

Tremolo-Matic X

August 8, 2014June 5, 2009 by admin

This is Tremolo-Matic X from the Tremolo Issue of Stompboxology by Nicolas Boscorelli. I have redrawn the schematic to make it easier to read. Hopefully this will be helpful to anyone attempting this project. This is Tremolo that pans between a treble and bass signal. It inlcudes controls to set the level for both the … Read more

Jinx

August 8, 2014July 13, 2007 by admin

This is another fine little Distortion by Tim Escobedo. I think this sounds pretty good. The sound can go from mildly distortion/overdrive to over the top almost metal. It can also get some splatty fuzz tones and a soft attack.

Titan Boost/Octave

August 8, 2014July 13, 2007 by admin

This is design by John Hollis. It’s a booster that uses an inductor to generate a massive boost. It also has a switchable octave up. The boost sound is very warm and clear. The octave has a nice tone also. There is a drop in volume between the octave and the boost, since the octave … Read more

August 8, 2014July 13, 2007 by admin

This is Way Huge Swollen pickle clone I made. This is basically a Big Muff with using a 14 pin DIP that contains 4 transistors. The tone control also has a pronounced mid scoop compared to the original Big Muff. I etched this design on the box. The design is based on flames in Tibetan … Read more

FET Muff

August 8, 2014July 13, 2007 by admin

I just built up Jack Orman’s FET Muff. This is Big Muff built with FET’s instead of BJT’s. When I created the layout I had the idea that I would keep all of transistors in line so I could use a length of milmax header. I think this made for a better construction. It led … Read more
