UBE Screamer v2
Here is an updated post for the UBE Screamer v2. The UBE Screamer was invented by the smart guys over at RunOffGroove.com, tireless purveyors of all things stomp box from the early days of the hobby. The UBE Screamer was their entry in the FX-X contest of August 2006 over at DIYStomboxes.com. Check out that…

UBE Screamer 4069
I wanted to do something a little more artful as a box. The Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures has a very iconic image. I don’t know what the secret sauce of this image is but it’s very compelling. From what I read the image appeared in Scientific American 1971 and was described as “stacked plot” of…

Another fail!
Here is a UBE Screamer with blend knob. I left a resistor out of the mixer and mixed up the Blend and Gain labels, double fail! As long as I’m going to screw things up I like to go all the way! This enclosure looks good! I like the logo outline and the pot labels…

UBE Screamer 1.1.1 build
Built and tested the new version of the UBE Screamer PCB. Everything is working! Sounds great. This is a good alternative to the standard TS-808 and other overdrives if you’re looking for something a little different. Does great low gain sounds. I built this in a 1590B enclosure from Tayda. I got most of the…

UBE Screamer 1.1.1
This is an update of the UBE Screamer board. Same circuit just revised. I had these boards fabricated at PCBWay.com. The quality is very great! The UBE Screamer is a very interesting take on the Ibanez Tube Screamer by RunOffGroove.com. It’s the general circuit topology of the TS-808 but uses CMOS inverters in place of…

UBE Screamer PCB v1.1
This is the second version of the UBE Screamer board. This version fixes a mistake with the reverse polarity diode. I’m calling this ready for public consumption and will add it to the OSH Park projects pages soon. The enclosure is grounded through the jacks. The bottom cover though doesn’t make an electrical connection to…

UBE Screamer by RunOffGroove
This UBE Screamer by RunOffGroove.com is a unique twist on the venerable Ibanez Tube Screamer TS-808. It replaces the op-amps and transistor stages with a single hex inverter using an inverter in place of each op-amp and transistor. This has a great sound that stands up to all of the other overdrives. Read more about…
